Pride!!

So I somehow completely forgot to put San Francisco pride on my calendar and just found out that it's next weekend! Think there's enough time to knit something rainbow by then? Probably not, oh well, I'm just happy I have the weekend off and be able to go out and support all my friends!

Summer Knitting (& other) Goals

1. Enter the http://www.1000fabulousknithats.com/ contest...since hats are what I always fall back on!

2. Finish green scarf, photograph and submit to knitty.com for online publication. Green scarf will be just for me when it's all over!!

3. 3 baby hats for college friend to give her niece, Jojo. I'm doing one sun hat and two beanies for 1st birthday gift.

4. Complete .pdf for Chunky Cable Shrug (see photo) pattern and post for sale on etsy...finished products sold to my favorite customer in Australia! http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=12234847 & http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=15826929

5. Knit through some stash!

6. Take more sewing classes...I'm hoping to be able to sew my Halloween costume! My hair's finally long enough, I'm going to be Cher from Clueless! All I need is a silly yellow plaid skirt suit. Hence, the sewing. I doubt you could buy such a thing anywhere, but I've been looking anyway!

7. Start something new for the nephew for Christmas...he already has hats, a toy and 2 sweaters, maybe a sweater vest or a blanket?

Here we go!

I've been meaning to start a blog for who knows how long, and here it finally is! AND...now that it's finally here, I don't know what to say.

My green scarf project is dragging on and on (can't post work-in-progress pics yet because I'm thinking of submitting to knitty) but it looks great. I'm using the most buttery merino in a very saturated shade of green from Frog Tree Yarns http://www.frogtreeyarns.com/ . This yarn is so decadent to knit! (keep wanting to say "knit with" but that would be ending with a preposition...hmm)

Let's dedicate this first one to my amazing 2-year-old nephew who says "here we go" every time the car backs out of the driveway. and who calls me "nantee" (=auntie).
